Swimming has
profound benefits for children with physical disabilities:
increased flexibility, circulation and muscular development, for
instance. Its greatest benefit, though, may lie in removing the
gravity factor - the water gives physically challenged kids a
chance to experience freedom.
For children who
enjoy swimming or wish to learn how to swim, Easter Seals offers
weekly one-on-one sessions with a qualified swim instructor. The
program is offered in eastern and western Newfoundland.
