Summer camps are the foundation upon which Easter Seals
in Newfoundland and Labrador was built. Since the
organization’s
early beginnings seventy years ago at the Rotary
Sunshine Park outside of St. John’s, Easter Seals
has been providing kids with physical disabilities from all areas
of the province with unforgettable summer camping experiences.
Singing around the campfire, fishing,
hiking, paddling a canoe, the thrill of being away from home
for the first time ... don't all kids deserve a taste? Easter Seals camps provide a supportive
environment that allows every child to participate -
regardless of physical ability. No one is left on the
sidelines; nobody is left looking in. We've learned how leveling the playing field
is no small thing. When camps are designed to be accessible,
it's as if disabilities disappear.

Our camps feature a low ratio of kids to
nursing staff and personal care attendants, and are
available to children throughout the province:
Camp Bumbleberry: Camp Bumbleberry
operates at the the beautiful Lavrock facility on the Salmonier Line in
eastern Newfoundland, and is open to children with physical
disabilities from across the province (travel assistance is
available).

Easter Seals Family Camp: This new
addition allows entire families to experience the joy of
camping and the wonder of the outdoors, which might not
otherwise be available to them. Catering to families with
children too young to attend camp by themselves, Family Camp
features all the amenities of other camps - nursing care,
personal care, the exciting programming - and gives families
the chance to socialize with one another in a safe and
supportive Easter Seals setting.
